On Saturday, January 16, 2010, at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD, the Georgetown Hoyas soundly defeated the Golden Bears of Kutztown University, 11-2. It was complete domination by the Hoyas, who outshot the Bears 45 to 17. During the second period, the Hoyas scored 7 unanswered goals, including two shorthanded goals on one shift by Alex Yale-Loehr (Soph-Ithaca, NY) and Dan Lechner (Sr-Rockville, MD).

On offense, the Hoyas were led by co-captain Dan Lechner who tallied five points on 3 goals and 2 assists. Alex Yale-Loehr had 2 goals and 1 assist; Charlie Walsh (Sr-Cheshire, CT) had 3 assists; Lou Aronne (Sr-Greenwich, CT) had 3 assists and no penalties; Lukas Autenried (Soph-Wallisellen, Switzerland) had 1 goal and 2 assists; Brad Cadigan (Freshman-Weymouth, MA) had 2 goals; Andrew Dorin (Sr-Roslyn, NY) had 2 assists; Richie McGinniss (Soph-New Canaan, CT) had 1 goal and 1 assist; Charlie Beller (Jr-Chappaqua, NY) had 1 goal; Joe Horgan (Sr-Lansdale, PA) had 1 goal; Chris Newsome (Freshman-Andover, MA) had 1 goal; and Pete Owen (Freshman-Westwood, MA), Gus Thompson (Jr-New Canaan, CT), and Andrew Foley (Sr-New York, NY) each had 1 assist.

The Hoya defense, which held Kutztown to 17 shots on goal, was led by Alec Estey (Soph-Toronto, Canada), Pete Bourneuf (Soph-Boston, MA), Charlie Walsh, Charlie Beller, Gus Thompson, and Richie McGinniss. Clayton Kossl (Jr-Kinnelon, NJ) stopped 15 of 17 shots on goal and helped the Hoyas earn their 8th consecutive victory to improve their overall record to 12 wins and 4 losses.
