The Georgetown University Hockey Team culminated its finest season ever by
defeating Duke and winning the championship of the Atlantic
Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL) playoff tournament on Sunday,
February 25, 2007, at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia.
In the semi-final game on Saturday night, the Hoya Hockey team overpowered
the Wolfpack of North Carolina State University 9-2. In the championship
game on Sunday afternoon, Georgetown rallied from a 1-0 deficit at the end
of the first period, dominated the remainder of the game, and soundly
defeated the Duke Blue Devils 6-3. With these impressive season-ending
victories, the Hoya Hockey team capped off an incredibly successful season
by winning both the ACCHL regular season championship and the ACCHL playoff
tournament. Overall, the Hoya Hockey team finished the season with a
record of 22 wins and 2 losses. In the ACCHL, Georgetown finished with a
perfect record of 14-0-0.
